Application Systems Analyst/ Developer

San Antonio, TX [Fairgrounds]

The successful candidate will work closely with our clients to develop and maintain SharePoint Online sites, Microsoft 365 solutions, web sites, and modernize older applications to current technologies and platforms to facilitate better business processes and knowledge\information management. This role requires an extensive amount of self-initiative and the ability to work independently. Specifically, as an Application Systems Analyst/ Developer you will oversee the implementation of required hardware and software components for approved applications, coordinate tests of the application system to provide proper performance, assure high quality designs are produced with UI/UX attributes that meet client needs and are 508 compliant. You will develop system diagrams, workflow charts, and other system documentation for developing and maintaining your solutions. The successful candidate will be involved in the full Systems Development Life Cycle beginning with the reviewing, analyzing, and modification of existing programming systems, including encoding, and debugging to support our clients’ SharePoint application and other systems.  The Application Systems Analyst/ Developer also is responsible for developing the application specifications, identifying the required inputs, and formats the output/ results to meet users' needs. You are adept at working remotely or collaborating as a team in a virtual environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Modernizes applications written in older technologies for new platforms based on requirements. 
• Develops and maintains .NET applications, UI/UX features, customization and configuration automation using various versions of Visual Studio.
• Writes and maintains SQL Stored Procedures and complex SQL queries.
• Maintains existing older .NET and MS Access applications.
• Develops and manages solutions performing development tasks in response to customer-reported issues.
• Diagnoses, troubleshoots and solves technical issues with existing applications.
• Communicates clearly, concise, and professionally via a variety of channels to team and client audiences providing requirements analysis and detailed technical documentation.
• IIS configuration and troubleshooting.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements and works with team members to implement efficiencies. 
• Effectively creates and maintains relevant systems documentation and user guides.
• Actively engaged in the planning and designing of new platforms and integrating new technologies into existing infrastructure. Evaluates new technologies and releases.
• Conducts cost analysis of newly designed platforms and technologies.
• Creates and reviews technical systems recovery plans to reduce down time if a system outage were to occur.
• Reviews the problem management register and identifies actions.
• Applies scripting methodologies to automate related tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
4-6 years of experience in software application development and maintenance.

US Citizenship required

Required Experience:

SharePoint Online solutions
Microsoft 365 Power Platform development, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
• .NET stack solutions, including older versions.
• Maintains existing older .NET and MS Access applications.
• Web server administration.
• Web design.
• SQL Server 2016+.
Business Analyst Experience.
• Proven record of working independently, in virtualized (remote) and in-person teams and with clients/customers to provide technical and functional knowledge and expertise. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Hands on experience with:

.NET stack
SharePoint Online, Foundation & Enterprise 2013, 2010, 2016.
• Visual Studio, various versions.
• Windows Server, IIS.
• M365 Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI.
• Access VBA.
• Visual Basic
Azure DevOps.


Other Experience:

Strong, independent application development skills that contribute significantly to analysis, prototype and design, test, and troubleshooting activities
Requirements gathering and building prototypes
• Ability to analyze existing architecture, develop and implement recommendations.

Physical Demands

Light office duties which may include sitting for prolonged periods of time, viewing digital screens for prolonged periods of time, lifting up to 10 pounds, use of a desk or mobile phone, typing on a keyboard, writing with a pen, pencil, or stylus, etc.
